Luther posted an 82-59 home victory over Martin Luther College this afternoon. Luther has now won two of its last three games.
The Norse blistered the nets shooting 54 percent that included an 11-of-22 performance from behind the three-point line. Luther also dominated the glass, out rebounding the Knights 36-24.
Five players tallied double-digits. Jared Nicolaisen led all scorers with 17. Nicolaisen was 7-of-13 that included 3-of-4 from behind the arch. James Kappus was credited with 12, while Aaron Blumberg, Spencer Sturges and McCoy Matthias all chipped in 10. Blumberg, who made his first collegiate start, posted a career high for points and also collected a career high six rebounds.
The victory gives Luther an overall record of 4-7, while Martin Luther fell to 1-10.
Luther returns to Iowa Conference action on Wednesday, Jan. 3, when it will travel to Simpson College. Start time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
