Luther traveled to University of Dubuque for the conference opener for both teams. After two hours of action, Dubuque remained unbeaten, posting a 3-2 decision. The Spartans won set one 25-21 and the Norse responded posting set victories of 25-20 and 25-22. Dubuque evened the match winning set four 25-15. In the fifth and deciding set, Dubuque prevailed 15-9.
The Spartans posted an attack percentage of .216, while Luther had an attack percentage of .164.
Four Norse tallied double digit kill totals. Karissa Kime led the squad with 14 kills. She was followed by Anna Larson and Emma Veum both with 11 and Sam Schroeder tallied 10. Sam Sixta dished out 43 assists and Larson led the defensive efforts with 22 digs.
Karrah Davis led the Spartan attack with 27 kills and had an attack percentage of .257.
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 6-3 and snapped a five-match win streak. Dubuque improved to 8-0.
Luther returns to action this Friday, Sept. 15 when it travels to UW-La Crosse for a non-conference match that begins at 7:00 p.m.
