Meredith Arpey scored her first goal of the season, a corner kick that found the back of the St. Olaf net in the 103rd minute, that gave Luther a 3-2 victory in double overtime. The win was Luther's second of the season against one loss.
The two teams traded blows with St. Olaf taking the lead twice, and Luther leveling the score minutes later. After the Oles took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, Ellie Schmid scored the first of her two goals, in the 38th minute assisted by Maggie Anderson (1).
In the second half, St. Olaf's Mackenzie Schoustra gave the Oles a 2-1 advantage with her second goal of the match at 73:40. Schmid responded at 76:29 assisted by Isabel Iverson (1).
Lauren Thormodsgard went the distance in front of the nets and turned away four shots on goal.
Luther returns to action this Friday, Sept. 8 when it will host St. Scholastica at 7:00 p.m.
