Tricia Serres became a two-time All-American placing 32nd at today's NCAA III National Cross Country Championships. Serres covered the 6K course in Hanover, Ind., with a time of 21:58.1. The top-35 runners earn All-American honors. Serres led the Norse who finished 27th from the field of 32 teams. Luther posted a team total of 625.
Top ranked Johns Hopkins won the team title with 85 points, followed by Williams with 137 and Middlebury with 185.
Individually, Chelsea Johnson of St. Scholastica completed her career with a national title. Johnson crossed the finish line in 21:11.7. Noelle Olson of St. Olaf was second (21:22.3) and Kaleigh Kenny of Williams was third (21:23.7).
Rounding out the top five for the Norse was Jayne Cole (110th - scored 83 - 22:42.4), Brenna Gibbons (190th - scored 142 - 23:17.9), Nicole Powers (231 - scored 179 - 23:43.0), and Lauren Mordini (255 - scored 199 - 24:02). Mallory Carr (264th - 24:19.7) and Sophie Ristau (270th - 24:42.1) ran sixth and seventh respectively for the Norse.
Today was the third consecutive year and 14th overall that Luther had qualified for the national finale.
