Luther placed five runners in the top-10 en route to the 2013 team title of the 42nd Annual All-American Invitational. The Norse posted a team total of 27 points. Hamline University was next with 52 followed by the Luther Alumni with 57 and St. Ambrose University with 106. The All-American team title was the fourth in school history and the first since 2007.
Marty Mitchell led the was for the Norse finishing third (21:10.1). Colin Rogers of Hamline University won the individual title clocked at 20:39.6. He was followed by Luther alum Shane Steele who finished the four mile course in 20:46.7.
Also scoring for the Norse was Austin Bauer (4th - 21:10.2), Alex Rigdon (5th - 21:10.3), Brock Laue (7th - 21:15.9) and John Freude (8th - 21:16.5). Scott Mittman (11th - 21:31.7) and Isaac Jensen (12th - 21:31.8) completed the top seven.
The Norse will return to action Oct. 4 when they will race in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational. This race will begin at 5:00 p.m. on the Whitetail Golf Course, Colfax, Wis.
