Luther was defeated by Central 84-82 tonight in the Pella. It was the conference opener for both teams. It was also a classic shoot out as the Norse shot 54.5 percent and the Dutch connected on 52.5 percent of their attempts.
John Androus recorded a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds. His 26-point effort match a career high he established against Northwestern (MN) earlier this season.
Jake Martin and Brian Nnaoji completed the list of double figure scorers producing 17 and 10 points respectively.
Central was led by Kevin Kaerwer with 26 and Matt Greenfield with 16.
The loss snapped a four-game win streak and gives the Norse an overall record of 8-4.
Luther returns to action at home on Saturday when it will host Wartburg College at 4:00 p.m.
