Recreational Services offers free, weekly canoe/kayak outings on the Upper Iowa River for Luther students. Transportation and canoes/kayaks are provided. The approximately 1–1.5 hour float is meant to be an short, easy way for getting as many people on the river as possible. We will start at the Pole Line Rd./Bluffton Rd. bridge and end at Luther College. Whether you are experienced or not at canoeing or kayaking, we invite you to join us. A Recreational Services employee will canoekayak along with the group. We have trips every Sunday afternoon in the fall and spring.

Luther students can check out any of the four canoes and ten kayaks owned by Luther for free! We even have a trailer that you can use to transport them if you have a vehicle with a 2-inch ball hitch and are checking out all kayaks or trailers. Luther students have priority usage of the equipment. Go to the Recreational Services online equipment checkout form to reserve them. The Recreational Services office does not offer transportation and boats are not available any Sunday afternoons as we offer our own trips down the river.
