Equipment Information and Checkout

Summer 2018 equipment checkouts are open! Summer equipment checkouts are limited to canoes and kayaks as staff are available.

*Due to staffing limitations equipment will not be available for checkout from June 22nd - July 11th.  We apologize for the inconvenience.*

Reservations for equipment can be made in advance via this online form.  

A minimum of 3 business days notice is required. Checkouts may not be available if staff are out of the office for work or vacation.

Equipment can be checked out to current Luther students and Employees.

There is a maximum checkout length of two weeks.

Recreational services is unable to haul canoes or kayaks during the summer months.

Summer equipment checkouts include rental fees, due at the time of pick-up by cash or check.

There is a 24 hour cancellation notice or full payment will be charged to your Luther account (excluding inclement weather as determined by risk management policies).

All equipment must be returned cleaned and in the same condition as distributed in.  There will be a charge for replacement, repair, or cleaning of damaged, dirty, wet, and/or missing equipment.

There is a $10/day/item late fee charge for any equipment returned past the scheduled return date.  

Luther College Wellness and Recreational Services assumes responsibility for reasonable maintenance and working condition of the checkout equipment.

It is the responsibility of the renter to return the equipment in its original checkout condition and to assume liability for personal injury resulting from the use of the equipment, to pay for repairs of equipment which result from negligent use by the renter and to compensate the Recreation program in case of loss/damage of the equipment.
