Please contact Director of Campus Programming Kristen Underwood with any questions.
Information about the application process and the funding schedule is included in the information provided below.
It is the responsibility of the Campus Programming Board to encourage unique and innovative programs; to coordinate cross-campus collaboration and resource sharing; and to help facilitate connections between the academic program and campus events. The Campus Programming Board assesses applications for funding for campus events, in amounts up to $1500 per event. Applications with substantiated significant campus impact may request more than $1500. All faculty and administrative staff members in the Luther community may submit proposals to the Campus Programming Board to request funds for specific events. In general, Campus Programming Board will not provide ongoing annual or biennial funding.
Funding of proposals is not automatic. It is the role of the Campus Programming Board to promptly evaluate proposals on:
The likelihood of a favorable response to a proposal is enhanced by evidence of realistic and careful planning and by supporting materials submitted with the proposal. Proposals should include at least one opportunity available to the entire campus community.
The Campus Programming Board budget is divided into five categories
The Campus Programming Board's first review cycle begins in the spring semester prior to the targeted academic year, with a second application opportunity extending through September. After allocation, there may be funds in one or more of the five categories for which no application was submitted. At that point, all funds are pooled and may be allocated to any deserving application submitted during phase 1, regardless of category.
Phase 1:
Applications are submitted April 16 to April 30. Review of applications, and allocation of funds is completed by May 16.
Applications received between April 30 and October 1 will be reviewed, with allocation of funds completed by October 16.
Applicants who were previously declined may revise and resubmit.
Funds remaining in any of the five distinct Campus Programming Board categories after the committee’s October meeting will be pooled into a general Campus Programming Board fund. The committee may then revisit all applications received by October 1, and may allocate remaining funds regardless of category by November 1.
