Nick Preus

Nick Preus, Professor of English and Education, is one of our many close links to other departments. He draws on his time as a high school teacher to inform his course on ethical issues in education; he also teaches Victorians, Romanticism, British Novel, and poetry. His January course, “Tales of the Sea” takes students to the Caribbean to read maritime literature while they crew on the historic schooner, Roseway. Nick has a BA from Luther and a PhD in British Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to nineteenth-century literature, he is interested in studying how insights from evolutionary psychology help us re-see literary texts.
