Luther College is located in a beautifully rugged and geologically unique area known as the Driftless Region of the Upper Midwest, punctuated by deeply carved river valleys and high bluffs. The Driftless Area trips will use the Pine-Bluff 4-H camp located just outside of Decorah as a home base from which to explore the immediate area surrounding Luther College, including the natural areas, rural towns and small farms that dot the landscape.
Daily activities will be organized and facilitated by two student leaders and include but are not limited to the following: group challenges, hiking, biking, canoeing, scavenger hunts, farm tours and boat rides. Evening activities will include cooking, games, skits, and small-group conversations relating to college life, identity, and culture.
A program free of $200 covers all meals, transportation, activities, and rustic accommodations for the week. Significant financial aid is available for program fees and is based on a student's relative need as demonstrated by their financial aid package. Luther College helps to subsidize the cost of each trip; cost should not be a barrier to participation. Please contact Emily Neal for more information.
