Pancake Breakfast
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 701 Iowa Ave., Decorah

The whole community is invited to support student service work! The Luther College chapter of Habitat for Humanity will be serving pancakes with butter and syrup, sausage, applesauce, juice, milk, and coffee.

Most of the seating will be outdoors to limit close contact and "to go" boxes will also be available.  

Proceeds go to:

  • Luther College Habitat for Humanity Spring Break Service Learning Trip
  • Winneshiek County Habitat for Humanity
  • Habitat for Humanity Hurricane Ida Disaster Relief

$8 for adults, $4 children ages 4 to 12, free for 3 and under

The Decorah Rotary's 9th Annual Loop de Loop Half-Marathon and 10K/5K Run-Walk will take place on the beautiful Trout Run Trail on Saturday, September 18. Register to participate or learn more about the event. The Rotary Club welcomes all Luther students and their families to join the fun!

Luther trails hike meet in front of Dahl Centennial Union (Hike will begin promptly after group gathers at 9 a.m.)
Come for a leisurely hike on the trail system through Luther's native habitats, including oak woodlands and tallgrass prairies.  Student interns will talk about their stewardship work that maintains and improves the quality of our natural areas, including tree plantings, prairie and woodland management, and ongoing projects such as non-native invasive species control.  A great hike for those who want to enjoy the fall weather and native habitats in Iowa's driftless region.  Wear footwear appropriate for light hiking.

Vesterheim Museum open 502 W. Water St., Downtown Decorah

Vesterheim Museum invites Luther families to come and see the collection that began at Luther in 1877. Admission is always free for Luther students, faculty, and staff, and for museum members.** 

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., folk-art demonstrators, guides, and greeters will include current or former Luther staff, faculty, or students.

Special exhibits open at the museum include 
Socially Distanced, Creatively ConnectedA special juried folk-art exhibition highlighting pandemic creativity; and An Artist’s Journey: Carl Homstad, 50 Years.

**This year's event is part of Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day Live!, which will provide two free tickets to Vesterheim if tickets are printed from www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/museum-day-2021/.
