DESCRIPTION:The Center for Intercultural Engagement and Support (CIES) invites you to experience Utsav: Festival of Colors\, a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Asian Indian community\, on Saturday\, July 19\, in Rochester. Enjoy delicious food\, captivating dance performances\, and mesmerizing music; join the color throw; and explore an array of products available for browsing. \nAfter departing from the Dahl Centennial Union at 10:30 a.m.\, we will enjoy lunch at an Indian restaurant\, spend a few hours at the Apache Mall\, and end the afternoon at the Utsav festival. We expect to return to campus at 8 p.m. The cost is $5\, which covers the event ticket\, lunch\, and transportation. \nPlease RSVP for the trip through this form; pay the ticket cost at the CIES office. DESCRIPTION:To commemorate Juneteenth\, the Center for Intercultural Engagement and Support (CIES) is hosting a day trip on Saturday\, June 21 to Waterloo\, IA. We will go to the African American Cultural and Historical Museum\, lunch at Rodney’s Kitchen\, and attend Waterloo’s Juneteenth Festival. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the third Cultural Community Connections event. This is a partnership between the Center for Intercultural Engagement and Support (CIES)\, the Landing Market\, and the Asian Student Association and Allies (ASAA) to provide cultural programming for the community in honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Month. \nThe event\, centering on “Eats\, Education\, Engagement\,” will feature “Asia on a Plate\,” a meal of Vietnamese Com Tam\, a pork dish served with jasmine rice\, eggs\, cucumbers\, carrots\, and traditional spices; Filipino Maja Blanca\, a corn pudding made with coconut milk\, corn\, and cheese; Indonesian Pisang Goreng ( fried bananas); and Thai Tea. \nCost is $10.
