Thursday, August 23

The Thursday, August 23 schedule pertains to students/parents who did not attend a ROAD session during the summer and who will arrive early to complete their Registration, Orientation, and Advising Day (ROAD). Please refer to the ROAD schedule for details of this day’s events. All other students begin orientation on Saturday, August 25.

7:00 a.m.

Cafeteria open, Dahl Centennial Union lower level.  Breakfast 7:00 - 8:30 a.m.; lunch 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; dinner 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Oneota Market open (soup/salad bar, grab-and-go items), Dahl Centennial Union mail level

8:15 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Friday, August 24

7:00 a.m.

Cafeteria open, Dahl Centennial Union lower level. Breakfast 7:00 - 8:30 a.m.; lunch 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; dinner 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, August 25

A complete student schedule will be available at both the residence hall check-in and at the Welcome Information table in Dahl Centennial Union.

7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Cafeteria open, Dahl Centennial Union lower level

7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • Nordic Brew open – serving coffee and pastries, Dahl Centennial Union lower level

8:30 a.m.

  • Residence halls open. See Move-in Map for driving instructions for your student’s specific residence hall.

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Book Shop open, Dahl Centennial Union main level

10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  • College offices open

    A representative from the following offices will be available in the Dahl Centennial Union main lobby to assist you: Health Service, Residence Life, Dining Services, Student Life and Financial Aid/Work Study. You will also be able to purchase a laundry card and register your vehicle.

    In addition, the following offices are open: Financial Services (Main Building), Financial Aid (Main Building), Mail Center (Dahl Centennial Union), Dining Services (Dahl Centennial Union), and Health Service (Larsen Hall).

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

  • Local and Sustainable Luncheon, Dahl Centennial Union lower level, Cafeteria

    Please join us for lunch in the Cafeteria as we celebrate the collaboration of local and sustainable foods with our local vendors and farmers. There is no charge for Luther students on the board plan. For nonstudents, there is a charge of $9 for adults, $4.50 for children ages 5–10, children under 5 free.

    Representatives from the Winneshiek Farmers Market will be tabling outside the cafeteria.  

    Honey, pies, other assorted goods available for purchase.

2:00 p.m.

  • A Luther Welcome, Center for Faith and Life main hall

    President Paula Carlson, campus staff, College Ministries, and student orientation leaders will officially welcome students and their families to the Luther Community.

3:00 p.m. (immediately following the Luther Welcome)

  • Parents’ Reception, Bentdahl Commons

    Enjoy an ice cream treat and visit with other parents and staff members.

4:00 p.m.

  • Plan to say “good-bye.” Students will begin their evening meetings and activities at 5:00 p.m.
