Wind and Percussion Ensemble

Cory Near, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music

The Wind and Percussion Ensemble consists primarily of outstanding band students. Membership is determined by audition, which occur at the start of each semester. The ensemble is limited to approximately 50 students with a controlled instrumentation who rehearse three days a week. The size and quality of the ensemble allows an intense attitude in terms of rehearsal and performance material. In addition to Family Weekend performances and Dorian Band Festival performance, the Wind and Percussion ensemble performs in chapel and gives a full concert each semester.

The 2020-2021 Luther College Wind and Percussion Ensemble is directed by Cory Near.
