This video was used to submit our competition application to the National Trumpet Competition in December of 2015. The piece featured in the video is Homage, by Dr. Michael D’Ambrosio. This piece was commissioned by the Luther Trumpet Studio to pay homage to the great Chicago Symphony Orchestra principal trumpeter and Luther College alum, Adolf Herseth (’43). The piece is based on themes from Gustav Mahler’s Fifth Symphony in C# minor, a signature work for Herseth and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra brass.

This video is used as the demonstration video on the website for Triplo Press, the foremost leader in print music for trumpet ensemble music. The piece performed in the video is called Compressionism, composed by Dr. Michael D’Ambrosio.

Performing Prayer of Saint Gregory by Alan Hovhaness, Dr. Cord solos at the 2015 Dorian Orchestra Festival. This ensemble features some of the finest high school string players from throughout the Midwest. The Festival and ensemble are led by Dr. Daniel Baldwin, Director of Orchestral Music at Luther College.
