Sr. Recital: David Blackstad, saxophone

David Blackstad, senior, will perform a saxophone recital at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus.

David will be performing an eight-movement program titled "The Psychological Suite," tracing psychological development through a person's life following the stages coined by Erik Erikson's research in developmental psychology. He will be featuring movements by Thad Jones, Charlie Parker, and Jimmy Heath, among others. David will also be featuring his original compositions, "ID" and "Time Up."

David will be collaborating with Robert Dean, piano, Tom Perkins, drums, Zach Mayer, bass, and Jackson Churchill, trombone.

David is a student of Lynne Postudensek Hart.

A reception will follow, and the recital will also be live streamed.
