Concert Band Homecoming Concert (STREAM)

Luther College Concert Band, under the direction of Joan deAlbuquerque, will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on March 24th in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on Luther College campus. This is the Concert Band's homecoming concert for their 2015 spring break Minnesota-California-Arizona tour.

The concert is free and open to the public. Video Streaming will be available online.

The concert program features "The Star Spangled Banner," arr. John Williams; "Let the Amen Sound," by Travis Cross; Shostakovich's "Festive Overture;" "Bells Across the Atlantic" by Adam Gorb; "The Redwoods" by Rossano Galante; "Centennial Celebration Fanfare," by John Alan Carnahan; "Scherzo: Cat and Mouse," by Robert Spittal; "Symphony No. 2," by Frank Ticheli; "Who Puts His Trust In God Most Just," by Johann Sebastian Bach; and Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever." The Luther College Fortress Brass Quintet will also be performing.

The Luther College Concert Band was formed in 1878, laying the foundations for what would become the college’s long-standing tradition of musical excellence. Concert Band is now one of the oldest touring organizations in the nation and ranks among the country’s outstanding college bands. Throughout its long history, Concert Band has enjoyed unrivaled performance opportunities in the United States, Western Europe, and Japan. The ensemble tours every year, with international travel every four years.
