Nearly 600 students participate in the festival, where the bands include two Festival massed bands and the Festival Symphonic Band. The Festival Bands each include 250 players, while the select Festival Symphonic Band, made up of a select number of more experienced students, includes 75 of the most advanced players.
The guest conductor for the Noble Band is Joseph Missal from Oklahoma State University and the guest conductor for the Sperati Band is David Kish from Metropolitan State University of Denver. The director for the Symphonic Band is Joan deAlbuquerque, Luther director of bands and associate professor of music.
