Luther College's Philharmonia presents their program at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.
This event is open to the public with no charge for admission.
The Luther College Philharmonia is a symphonic ensemble that performs regularly on campus in concert under the direction of Spencer Martin.
The program for this concert includes Mozart's "Overture to Don Giovanni," Debussy’s “Petite Suite” and Beethoven's "Ah, Perfido!" for soprano and orchestra, which will be performed with Carla Hanson, soprano.
Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation, with five choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and more than 800 student musicians. Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. Nearly 275 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, jazz, church music and performance.
