Philharmonia Concert

The Luther College Philharmonia, under the direction of Philip Borter, will present a fall concert at 7:30pm Wednesday, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther College campus.

The performance is open to the public with no charge for admission.

The program features Mannheim Sinfonia in G major by Johann Stamitz and Symphony No. 1 in C major by Ludwig V. Beethoven. The concert concludes with Czech Suite, Op. 39 by Antonin Dvorak. 

Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation, with five choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and more than 800 student musicians. Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. Nearly 275 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, jazz, church music and performance.
