Service Opportunities

Faith is lived out in action at Luther College. Students are invaluable volunteers at the local food pantry and free clinic, in area schools, and in nursing homes. On campus, student organizations plan events that benefit the broader community while also providing an opportunity to develop skills, practice one's faith, and learn together.

Some of the service opportunities related to College Ministries include:

  • Spring Break service/mission trips with Habitat for Humanity
  • Partnering with local nursing home through GrandPALS.
  • Mentoring opportunities with area elementary and middle school children through PALS (a big brother/big sister program)

As Luther students transition into alumni, some feel called to participate in a year of service. There are multiple organizations that help fulfill this calling. Many Luther alumni have participated in Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM), Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC), Border Servant Corp and Urban Servant Corps.
