2017-18 Congregational Council – Due to an unanimous ballot, the following students have been raise up as leaders who will serve on student council during the next academic year: Menzi Nkambule, President; Alex Aakre, Vice President; Sam Poppen, Secretary; Matthew Rossler, Treasurer; Alex Sekora, Deacon of Community Action; Linnea Peterson, Deacon of Global Concerns; Madeline Ajack, Deacon of Outreach; Thomas Specht, Deacon of Spiritual Formation; Jana Mueller, Deacon of Worship.


Sunday Night Worship/Focus is a student-led worship service with music, speaking, and prayer, held at 9:00pm in the CFL Main Hall. Our speaker on Sunday, April 23 will be Luther senior, Dagny LeMunyon. Our speaker for Sunday, April 30 will be Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Kyle Fey.


“Luther Serves” on Saturday, April 29 – The Luther Student Congregation invites Luther students, groups, and organizations to join in serving the Decorah community with spring chores through Luther Serves (formerly known as Spring Fling). Help with yard work, cleaning first floor windows, light housework, and other chores. Morning shifts are from 9:30 a.m. to noon and/or afternoon shifts are from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. We will be tabling for volunteers on April 18-20, 24-25 in the union; students can also sign-up through the College Ministries website, Facebook page, or by emailing College Ministries.


Gospel Choir is a non-audition choir sponsored by College Ministries and the Diversity Center that is open to students, staff, faculty and community members. The choir rehearses on Saturday afternoons and performs in worship on the following Sundays throughout the school year. The next rehearsal is Saturday, April 29 in the Jensen Choir Room from 3:00 – 5:00pm; the choir will then sing on Sunday, April 30 at the 10:00 a.m. worship service in the CFL. Community Focus - Luther and Decorah community members are invited to join us for Focus, a student-led, multi-denominational worship service with music, speaking , and prayer. On Sunday, May 7, worship will be held at 8:00pm out on Bentdahl Commons (rain location: CFL Main Hall). Our speaker will be Luther Senior, Aubree Tsurusaki. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome!


Silent Meditation takes place each Tuesday of the academic year at 5:15pm in the Melanchthon Interfaith Room (CFL-205). The sittings are led by Professors Gereon Kopf, Scott Hurley, or Professor emeritus, Lee Zook.  Email Professor Kopf with questions.
