Phishing E-mail

The LIS Technology Help Desk has been informed of the following phishing email being sent out. That email is a phishing scam. It is not from the Help Desk or anyone in LIS.

If you have responded, please change your password immediately at http://norsekey.luther.edu. If you have not responded, simply Delete the message. We are taking steps to block further messages.

For future reference, LIS and the LIS Technology Help Desk will never ask for private information or passwords via email. Any questions or concerns can be directed to x1000 or online at help.luther.edu.

User Services Meeting - 5/4/15

The User Services team meets twice each month. At this week's meeting, we discussed: Active Directory, Print Management, Senior Paper Treats, Finals Week Treats, Outdoor Easel, IAICU 2015 IT Workshop, 2015-2016 Work Student Authorization, Clickers, Classroom Tutorials, Java, New K1000 and K2000 Servers, help.luther.edu, VPN web, and LIS Summer Projects.

H Drive Removal Process

This morning, the following message regarding H Drive Removal was sent to all students who are graduating May 2015. Any questions about the process should be directed to the LIS Technology Help Desk at x1000 or online at help.luther.edu
As you have, or are soon to be, graduated and are now a Luther alumni, the Network Drive space (known as the H Drive) you’ve been provided through LIS will be removed to make room for next year’s incoming students. H Drives will be permanently removed on October 20, 2015. It is advisable you move your files prior to that date. This does NOT affect your ability to use Norse Mail.

Network Sentry Upgrade 5/7/15 Completed

Update 7:20AM -- The upgrade has been completed.

On Thursday, May 7 starting at 7AM, LIS will be upgrading the software on our Bradford Network Sentry System. During a small portion of the upgrade process computers may be unable to register for access to the campus network and connections to the wireless network, attempted from registered computers during that time may experience service disruptions.
