I'm so glad I was able to spend my Education 185 in New Mexico. I made new memories and friends while learning more about the job of an educator. I was able to do more within the classroom than I could have ever imagined! This trip was one of the best decisions I have ever made!
My time in New Mexico was one of the most eye opening experiences. I loved working in a kindergarten class who had the biggest hearts and a love for learning. I enjoyed every minute in New Mexico, from cooking dinners to recess duty. This trip has shown me exactly why I want to be a teacher!
Going to Gallup was an experience I will never forget. I was working with a group of first graders who were excited to learn and be around me. Working with the students I realized how important education is and how vital of a role a teacher has in a child's life. I would recommend to anyone even thinking about teaching to go on this trip!
Never would I have expected to get such an amazing experience. Being able to work with the students and staff down in Gallup filled me with nothing but excitement to become an educator. It was beautiful to see that no matter where you are and no matter who you are working with, the kids will be kids, and educators are integral to shaping who those wonderful children will become.
This experience was going to decide which way my life went. I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a teacher, however I had so much fun, and I am looking forward to becoming a music teacher now! My students in Gallup were fabulous and I loved every minute we spent in New Mexico.
What an incredible experience working with such an amazing and unique group of students. My cooperating teacher inspired me to continue to grow as an educator and has given me an entirely new perspective on the public school system. I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to be out of my comfort zone and experience Navajo culture first hand.
My experience in Gallup was amazing. I am glad that I had the opportunity to work in a community that I have never experienced before. Working with 5th graders helped reaffirm my dream of one day becoming a teacher.
I had a wonderful time in New Mexico. This trip helped me determine that I can't wait to be an educator. Each day was a incredible experience and I had a great time with my students. These kids brightened each day and were so excited to learn from me. Whenever I taught a lesson they had big smiles. Seeing these kids learn and understand what I was teaching was amazing and I can't wait to help other students and educate our future.
My time in Gallup has been unbelievable and very eye-opening. I am going to miss the kids the most and my teacher of course. This experience was extremely educational and taught me a lot about the public school system. Although I don't think teaching is the career choice for me, this time in Gallup has taught me a lot about myself and about what career path I would like to pursue.
