• Peace and Reconciliation Dialog in Norway and the Balkans

Arrived in Norway!

We Made It!

We've arrived safely at the Nansen Dialogue Center in Lillehammer, Norway. It's been a long journey and one of our checked bags is going to be late to the party, but everyone is so thankful to finally settle in here and begin our studies.

First Impressions

It is just lovely here. Everyone has been so welcoming and patient with us and our tired brains. Also, the bread is delicious. The temperature is a balmy 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Who knew travelling to Norway would be an escape from the winter cold in Iowa?

Wait a Minute... Who's Typing This?

Ah, yes. My name is Sarah McRoberts, and I'm a senior math and computer science major. This trip is contributing to my russian studies minor, and I'm so excited to be here! I've been named the "blog coordinator" of the trip, so I'll be in charge of keeping this blog informative and up to date. However, I hope my fellow travelers will be writing some posts on here too!

Looking Ahead

We've got a ton of great activities lined up for this week. We'll be doing some intensive studying on the peace dialogues taught here at Nansen. I hope to keep the updates rolling in daily while the internet is good and free here at Nansen.

It's really surreal to finally be here, I can't even imagine all the experiences we'll accumulate in the next few weeks... But now we're just happy to go change out of our travel clothes and get some sleep.
