New Zealand is an ideal location for fitness and adventure activities. This course will introduce students to history, culture, and life in New Zealand while participating in a series of fitness and adventure activities. Activities will include hiking, cycling, sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and various other activities in some of the most interesting and scenic areas in the world. Students will travel throughout the South Island of New Zealand staying in hostels or similar accommodations affording the opportunity to interact with New Zealanders and other individuals from around the world. Students must be adaptable, physically fit, and enthusiastic about active and sustained participation in the activities outlined above. This course will fulfill the JII and PE 110 general education requirements.
