• Traveling the Path of Early Books

Back in Dublin

Today and yesterday we spent in Dublin. After leaving Galway, we took a three and a half hour bus ride to Dublin in pouring rain. Everyone was completely soaked for the entire day. In addition to the rain, it was a good thing we left Galway when we did because there was a huge storm coming in!

After arriving in Dublin we went out for dinner and fun. During January 21-26th a section of Dublin called Temple bar was having a festival entitled Trad fest. Trad fest is basically a huge music festival in which all the bars along Temple Bar have life music for people to listen to. It brought thousands of people to Dublin, making the city packed with people. Most students attended the events of Trad fest and had fun listening to the live music including cover bands and traditional Irish music!

Today began with a leisurely start. Everyone slept in and we all reconvened at the Chester Beatty library where we observed early Christian, Islamic works, and more. There was even a special exhibit on Paresian fashion which was really neat to see. After our library adventure we had free time in Dublin. A few groups went and saw a movie, shopped, and others toured the Guinness factory, and other architectural marvels located around Dublin.

Tomorrow is a free day in Dublin. Everyone has their own plans and is excited for our final full day in Ireland. I'm sure everyone will make the most of it and enjoy every moment left of this trip. It has been a blast!

More updates on our adventures tomorrow!
