John Whitham, age 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas, entered into eternal life on Oct. 8. 2018. He was born Nov. 4, 1950, in Denison, Texas, to Wilbur (Bill) and Vivian Whitham.
John earned his medical degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his license to practice medicine in the state of Texas in 1979. Dr. Whitham completed his internship and Family Medicine residency at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center in Fairborn, Ohio. He also held a Master of Science in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas in Dallas, Texas. He practiced medicine in Texas for nearly forty years, most recently for WellMed.
He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Some of the things he enjoyed were spending time with family and friends, his Sunday afternoons at the range, driving his yellow Corvette, and taking care of his beloved Dobermans.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Janene; Children Nicole Whitham and Kevin (Virginia) Whitham; Grandchildren Emily and Jonathan; Sisters Barbara (Richard) White, Judy (David) Jones, and Margaret (Bob) Jochims; Nieces Megan(Jack) White and Julie (Tony) Gunion; and Nephews Brandon (Debbie) Jones and Nicholas (Cecilia) Whitham.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Vivian Whitham, his nephew Andy Tweed, and brother Bill Whitham.
Celebration of Life was held at Galilean Lutheran Church, 3321 Cimarron Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas, on Oct. 20. 2018. Donations can be made in John's name to Lone Star Doberman Rescue at www.lonestardobermans.org or Galilean Lutheran Church.
