Christopher Jon Rummé, 65, passed away May 26, 2018, at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, N.C.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Charles Rummé ‘57; mother, Sylvia Grace Robin, and brother, Joel Rummé ‘80.
Christopher was an avid reader and writer of poetry. He was a master potter and lifelong craftsman. His works include painting, jewelry, sculptures, mobiles, and a variety of experimental clay pieces. Christopher was a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild since 1981.
Surviving Christopher is his son, Florian Rummé; and wife, Emmalee Thompson of Asheville, N.C.; daughter, Demetria Rummé and husband, Joshua Dray, of Asheville, N.C.; brothers: Daigaku Rummé ’72 and wife, Kathleen, of St. Louis. Paul Rummé and wife, Ziyi, of Nagoya, Japan, Philip Rummé ‘79 and wife, Mary Lentz, of Dayton, OH; sisters, Martha (Rummé) Werth ‘73 and husband, Jay, of Columbia, S.C., Sarah Rummé- Nishida and husband, Taka Nishida, of Nagoya, Japan; grandchildren: Rowan Rummé, Levon Dray, and Gladys Dray all of Asheville, N.C.
