While at Luther he met and married his wife Betty Jane (Eide) Behm ‘57 on Sept. 1, 1956. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Sept. 2006 with a trip to Hawaii. Betty graduated in May 1957 and landed a teaching position as a sixth grade Teacher at Decorah Community Schools.
Upon Graduation in May 1959 they moved to Madison, Wis., where Loren was employed in the Insurance field. He spent four years in claims and six years in the sales field. Betty did substitute teaching in Madison Schools. While living in Madison, Loren and Betty were blessed with the birth of their daughter Lori Caryn on June 29th 1959. Another blessing came in 1966 when they adopted Frederick Arthur who was born July 12th 1966. This family was further blessed on May 19th, 1976, when Barbara Jean (BJ), our bi-centennial baby, was born in Decorah.

Leaving Decorah Iowa after 33 years was hard but they were again blessed when they found membership in Ascension Lutheran Church of Thousand Oaks, Calif. They enjoyed the activities, especially the Senior Group’s Day trips and Tours that this active church provides as well as the small group Bible study called “Christ Care.” In 2010 they moved to Las Vegas to be with family.
