Roger Allan Enge passed away at the age of 78 on July 26, 2017, in Encinitas, Calif., due to complications from recent brain hemorrhages.
Roger was born on Aug. 26, 1938, in Eau Claire, Wis. In 1956, he graduated from Onalaska High School in Wis. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in 1960 from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He then earned his master's degree in science mathematics from the University of Illinois, Champaign.
He married Inga (Pederson) Enge ’64 on June 21, 1964, in Fairfax, Minn. They moved to Orange County in 1964 where he became a teacher. He worked as an educator for over 46 years, teaching countless students mathematics at Ocean View Elementary (Calif.), Pacifica HS (Calif.), Golden West College (Calif.), the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire (Wis.), Rosemount HS (Minn.), and Mission Viejo HS (Calif.).
He is preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Emma Enge along with his brother John and sister Sandra. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Inga (Pederson) Enge ‘64; son Ronald and wife Kathleen (Thrasher); son Jonathan Enge and daughter Elizabeth Enge; grandchildren Lauren, Clark and Colette Enge; and brother Charles Enge ‘58.
A service was held on Aug. 13, 2017, at San Marcos Lutheran Church in San Marcos. Please make charitable donations to the Erven and Marie Pederson Endowed Music Scholarship Fund at Luther College.
