Professional Experience: CEO and Owner of ABEE, Inc. for 28 years. ABEE Corporation is an industry leader in program development for challenge course, leadership training, and adventure education disciplines serving a variety of education-based, corporate, and government clients worldwide. Following the sale of ABEE, Inc. in 2010, Boeke joined the Luther faculty to develop adventure and leadership disciplines of study. Previous teaching experience through contract and adjunct positions include the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse and Wartburg Theological Seminary. In addition, Boeke has provided adventure programming service to the national ELCA Youth Gathering events for the past 30 years.
Education: Phd in Health Education and the Psychology of Physical Activity with a specialization in Public Health from the University of Kansas; MSE in Health Education from the University of Kansas; BA from Luther College in Health and Psychology
Coordinates HP 100 Lifetime Health and Wellness general education requirement and teaches courses in the Health Promotion Major.
Professional Experience: In addition to teaching in the Health Promotion and Exercise Science Department, Dr. Jennings leads the wellness program for both employees and students on campus. Health promotion majors have opportunities for hands-on experiences and research through the wellness program. Dr. Jennings is a Masters Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES®) and recently served as an expert on national panel which developed a description of the contemporary practice for CHES® and MCHES® and provided a framework for professional preparation and professional development in health education and health promotion. Her prior experiences include teaching at the University of Maine Farmington and University of Kansas; field work as a health promotion specialist with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Bureau of Health Promotion and Healthy Maine Partnerships.
