Andrea Brinton came to Luther College from Clarion, Iowa. She had attended Iowa State University for a year, and transferred to Luther where she majored in Physical Education. Andrea is the daughter of Luther alumni, Pamela (Beran) ’69, and Robert Brinton ’69, of Ames, Iowa.

Following graduation, Andrea enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she was a graduate teaching assistant and earned the master’s degree in athletic administration in 1996. She joined the staff at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, and was an instructor in exercise science from 1997 to 1999.

She taught 5th and 6th grade at Clear Spring School in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for six years until 2008.

Andrea is a member of the Soka Gakki International-USA Buddhist, Eureka Zadankai Chapter, in Eureka Springs.

She is a member of the National Association of Youth Sports, the National Recreation and Parks Association, and the Arkansas Recreation and Parks Association. She has served as a volunteer for the Rogers Area Trail Supporters. She is also certified as an Aquatics Facility Operator.

Andrea VonBrinton is currently director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Rogers, Arkansas. She and her wife, Trinke (Vaughan) VonBrinton, married in 2019, and live in Rogers.
