Center Stage Series: Cirque Ziva to perform Feb. 21 at Luther College

Luther College invites you to come and be amazed by an array of centuries-old Chinese acrobatic art with Cirque Ziva. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21.

Cirque Ziva's performance in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall, is part of Luther College's 2012-13 Center Stage Series of professional performing arts events. The performance is sponsored by Decorah Bank & Trust.

The young 20-person cast will dazzle audience members by feats of flexibility, juggling hats, balancing cups, spinning plates, diving through hoops and much more.

Tickets for the performance are on sale at the Luther Box Office, open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. and 11a.m.-3 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

Cirque Ziva's premiere North American tour began in January 2013 and will run through the spring. This is the newest show from seasoned director Danny Chang, who is best known as the artistic director of the Golden Dragon Acrobats, the premiere touring Chinese acrobat company in the U.S.

Described as a fast-paced, eye-catching show that will energize audience members of all ages, Cirque Ziva is known for its powerful music, spectacular sets and explosive choreography.
