Sustaining the Mission: Projects and Priorities

January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2015

During a time of leadership transition, and building on the success and momentum of The Sesquicentennial Fund, our development efforts remain focused on the college's student-centered mission.

A three-year funding initiative, Sustaining the Mission, focuses on these primary areas:

If you wish to speak with us personally, we hope you'll give us a call or visit our office on campus—we are ready to assist you in any way we can.

Of course, if you're ready to make your gift today, you may visit

Thank you, again, for your interest in supporting Luther College.

Center For Sustainable Communities

Through Luther’s last campaign, The Sesquicentennial Fund, the college initiated efforts to establish and fund the Center for Sustainable Communities to serve as a catalyst for change and to be an educational resource in our region. This means giving students opportunities for learning, exploring, and leading, not just in the classroom or on the campus, but in their communities. The vision includes an endowment goal of $5 million to provide program support for a community energy initiative, a sustainable foods and wellness initiative, environmental education outreach, and land stewardship. Student interns will be central to the success of the center in its daily work, as will curriculum development, program outreach, and staff leadership.
