The Edward and Stephen Bialas Scholarship, established by Rev. Jeanette (Bialas) '74 and Rev. Jonathan Strandjord '74, shall be awarded to qualified first-year students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance. Preference shall be given to students from Wisconsin or Illinois with demonstrated academic ability and an interest in history or political science.

The Richard G. Cole Scholarship in History, established in honor of Richard G. Cole, professor emeritus of history, by his children, for his commitment and passion to history, education, and the mission of Luther College. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified first-year students, who plan on majoring in history, with a demonstrated need for financial assistance.

The Robert H. Davis History Scholarship, established by Edward Dosh '70 in honor of Professor Robert Davis, shall be awarded to entering first-year students of high academic promise who intend to major in history.

The Edward W. Dosh '70 Memorial Scholarship, established in memory of Edward W. Dosh '70, to be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance. Preference should be given to students majoring in History or Political Science.

The Jodene K. Evans Current History Scholarship, established by Jodene Evans '84, shall be awarded to upper class students majoring in history, with a preference to a student interested in pursuing a career in museum studies or decorative arts.

The Ida M. and Olaf J. Fosso Prize in American History, established by Doyle R. Fosso in honor of his parents, Olaf '30 and Ida Fosso, shall be awarded each year to the best student essay on any topic in American History.

The Osul T. Haaland Scholarship, established by C. Carlyle '55 and Mary (Kittelsland) Haaland '56 in memory of Rev. Osul T. Haaland '27, shall be awarded to upper-class students of outstanding academic ability and character who are majoring in either history or the classics, who can who evidence of need for financial assistance, and are planning a career in education or the ministry.

The Rolfe A. and Helen (Hoff) Haatvedt History Scholarship, established by Helen (Hoff) Haatvedt '36 in celebration of the five generations of family members who have attended Luther College, especially Professor Rolfe A. Haatvedt '29, former registrar and professor of classics. This scholarship shall be awarded to outstanding senior history majors, with preference given to students with an interest in ancient history or to those considering Foreign Service careers.

The Alison A. Hill Memorial Scholarship, established by James '66 and Nancy (Loftus) Hill '68 in memory of their daughter, Alison '02, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance majoring in French, History or English.

The Martha Genevieve Meade Memorial Scholarship, established by family and friends in memory and in celebration of the life of Martha Genevieve Meade '79, member of the Luther College Admission Staff from 1980-1985, whose life was tragically cut short on June 12, 2012 while traveling back to Decorah from her home in California. Martha was a dedicated educator who believed in the potential of students and that through education the world can be transformed. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students majoring in history and/or education. Additional preference shall be given to students from the Jefferson Union High School District (Daly City, California). If no applicants are enrolled from this district, then the awards shall be based solely upon financial need and major(s).

The Charles H. Norby Scholarship in History, established by the Norby family in memory of their brother, Charles Norby '30, gold star veteran of World War II, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance majoring in history.

The Ronald D. Olson Endowed Scholarship for European History, established through the estate of Ronald Olson '65, shall be awarded to qualified students of European history, ancient, medieval, or modern, who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Luther D. Peterson Scholarship, established through the estate of Luther Peterson '61, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance. Preference shall be given to students majoring in history, with emphasis on reformation history in honor of the academic career and interests of the donor.

The Judith Schroeder '69 and Robert Suarez Scholarship, established by Judith Schroeder '69, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to female and minority students majoring in history and/or international studies.
