Center for Faith and Life
On Tuesday, January 15, at 7:00 p.m., Luther history professor Marvin Slind will present a program about Amundsen's explorations in Olin 102. The presentation is free and open to the public.
An exhibit currently on display in the CFL consists of 24 large format fabric posters of Roald Amundsen's (1872 - 1928) Norwegian South Pole Expedition. The posters feature images taken by Amundsen and used during his presentation to the Royal Geographic Society, London, Nov. 15, 1912. Amundsen and his crew left Norway in June, 1910, sailing on the ship Fram. They arrived at the South Pole Dec. 14, 1911.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Fram Museum in Oslo and by the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
