Summer 2016 Student Work/Intern Positions

The Fine Arts Collection is looking for one to two Curatorial Interns for Summer 2016. Below is a list of information regarding the position, including a short job description and hours that need to be available in your schedule.

Curatorial Internship

Job Description —

  • Will work on a special project for the Fine Arts Collection involving turning our paper “condition report forms” into digital records
  • Assist in other tasks to help digitize Collections database
  • Curate a small show in the Display Cases in the Center for the Arts
  • May receive additional projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Spend time checking over current condition reports and updating records as necessary.
  • Will handle other basic curatorial and research requests as needed
  • General research of Collection Objects
  • [Museum or Collection Management Experience preferred]
  • Note: This position is UNPAID.

*This kind of work is quite common among registration workers in museums, and will be excellent professional development for anyone looking for an object-based career.

Availability —
Must work at least 72 hours for a 2-credit internship and 144 for a 4-credit internship. Must be available to work Mondays and Tuesdays 10am-5pm. Other hours to be arranged.

Fall 2016 Student Work/Intern Positions

The Fine Arts Collection is looking for one Curatorial Interns for Fall 2016. There is one AAA Photography position available, as well (funding is still pending).

Curatorial Internship

Job Description —

  • Maintain Object Records
  • Fulfill basic curatorial and research requests as needed
  • Contact Alumni artists about donations
  • May receive additional projects on an as-needed basis.
  • General research of Collection Objects
  • [Museum or Collection Management Experience preferred]
  • Note: This position is UNPAID.

***FALL ONLY*** Art Photography Project Worker [Pending Funding]

Job Description —

  • Reshoot one portion of the Fine Arts Collection
  • Edit images in Adobe Bridge and/or Photoshop
  • Load images onto FAC Database
  • Assist Lead FAC Photographer with smaller projects as needed.
  • Familiarity with SLR Digital Camera and/or Adobe Bridge preferred.

Availability —
Must be available to work Tuesdays or Thursdays. Other hours to be arranged. Must have 2-6 work-study hours available per week.
