DESCRIPTION:Dr. Mark Guerci will present his research into the ways in which Americans debated the place of the abolitionist movement in the collective memory of the United States during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries\, and the ways in which these conflicts reflected the complex racial politics of the period.
