Bethesda University, located in Anaheim, California defeated Luther this afternoon at the Kino Sports Complex by a final of 13-9.
The Flames tallied 19 hits and scored in every inning except three. Luther had 12 hits and scored two runs in the first, four in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the ninth.
Owen Vander Linden, who was 2-for-4, led the Norse with two RBI. Trent Athmann (3-for-4), Derek McCready (2-for-5), Bryce Hingst (2-for-3), Joe McKibben (2-for-3) all had multiple hits.
Ryan Manternach (0-2) was credited with the loss in relief. Manternach allowed four runs on seven hits working 2 2/3 innings after taking over with two outs in the bottom of the second.
The loss was the fifth in a row for the Norse who are now 3-5. Bethesda University improved to 9-10.
