Luther snapped its three-game losing streak defeating Central 63-57 this afternoon in Pella. The Norse led by as many as 13 early in the second quarter and fought off a couple of Dutch runs, one in the second frame and one late in the fourth to secure the victory.
The Norse had a balanced offensive attack led by the trio of Sarah Holtz, Madilyn Heinke and Madison Spence that produced 11 points each. Anna Edel, Coranda Vickerman and Kaylee Parks were all credited with seven points.
Central was led by Maci Gambell who poured in a game high 17. Jenna Clark also tally double digits credited with 14.
The win gives Luther an American Rivers Conference mark of 9-5, 10-11 overall. Central fell to 3-11, 7-16.
The Norse will wrap up the regular season schedule next week. Wednesday, Feb. 13 they will travel to Loras College. They will wrap up the week with a home date against Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday, Feb. 16.
