Luther hosted its own two-day invitational Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23 at Oneota Golf and Country Club. The par 72 measured 5800 yards.
The Norse finished third from the field of eight teams posting a 36-hole total of 676. The University of Dubuque won the team title with a 655, followed by Wartburg College with a 662.
Individually, Dubuque's Morgan Gille, Luther's Morgan Kranz and Wartburg's Brooke Klostermann tied for medalist honors finishing with 158's. Gille was declared the tournament champion based on the tournament's tie-breaker rule of an individual's second round total. Gille shot a 78, Kranz shot an 81 and Klostermann carded an 82.
Completing the Norse five included Alexa Eichstadt (T11th - 87-82-157), Aimee Hodges (13th - 86-88-174), Sydney Maule (14th - 88-87-175) and Elyse Menssen (26th - 93-97-190). There were 44 golfers in the field.
Kelly Schultz (T6th - 83-82-165), Linda Jiang (T8th - 83-85-168) and Maddy Wedmore (30th - 95-99-194) all played as individuals.
Next weekend, Sept. 29-30, the first 36-holes of the American Rivers Conference 72-hole tournament will be held at Pheasants Ridge Golf Course, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
