Luther's season came to an end this afternoon as the Norse were defeated by University of Dubuque 83-76. In a game that saw eight ties and seven lead changes, it was an 11-4 run by the Spartans in the final three minutes that decided the outcome.
Seniors Taylor Johnson, Nellie Nelson, Logan Hjerleid and Lyndsi Woolems were honored prior to tip-off as they were playing in their final game in a Norse uniform.
Johnson led the Norse attack with 18 points and fell one rebound shy of a double-double collecting a team best nine rebounds. Hjerleid tallied 13 points off the bench and Nelson chipped in 11. Woolems was credited with five and led the squad with two steals. Kylie Romeo connected on 4-of-8 attempts from behind the three-point line en route to 15 points.
Dubuque was led by Jena Kotas and Kayla Springer who both scored a game high 19 points.
The loss gives Luther a league record of 2-12, 11-14 overall. Dubuque finished in a tie for second place with a mark of 10-4 and improved to 17-8 overall.
