Trailing Buena Vista 47-41 at halftime, Luther stepped up its defensive effort in the second frame and held the Beavers to just 24 points en route to a 78-71 victory. With the game tied for the 13th time at 71-71 with 2:38 remaining, Aaron Huber scored five of Luther's final seven points down the stretch that helped secured the win.
Michael Crocker and Jake Martin led the offensive charge with 17 points each. John Androus recorded yet another double-double collecting a game high 10 rebounds and chipping in 13 points. Crocker, Martin and Cody Kliethermes each connected on three treys, as the Norse combined for a 10-for-31 effort from behind the arch.
Nick Clark led the Beavers with a game high 21. Cole Darrow also tallied double digits with 12.
The win was the third in a row for the Norse who are now 3-4 in Iowa Conference action, 11-7 overall. Buena Vista fell to 4-3 in league play, 9-9 overall.
Luther will host Simpson College this Saturday, Feb. 1 at 4:00 p.m.
