The Luther College women's cross country team placed ninth of 30 teams at the 20th annual Tori Neubauer Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse. The 6,000 meter course was run at Maple Grove Golf Course, West Salem, Wis.
The Norse posted a team total of 279. Wartburg won the team title with 81 points, followed by University of Minnesota with 90 and UW-La Crosse with 100.
Tricia Serres won the individual title (21:19), finishing 13 seconds ahead of runner-up Sammi Bruett of Wartburg. There were 471 runners that competed this morning.
Serres title was her fourth in a row dating back to the Luther All-American Sept, 14. She also won the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational Oct. 4, and the St. Kate's Invitational Oct. 12.
Jayne Cole also posted a top-20 finish. Cole placed 14th clocked at 22:33, her best time of the year on a 6K course.
Completing the top five finishers for the Norse was Brenna Gibbons (86th/83rd - 23:49), Nicole Powers (93rd/88th - 23:53), and Maggie Pierson (100/93 - 23:56). Madeline Lambert (114th - 24:08) and Sophie Ristau (116th - 24:09) were sixth and seventh for the Norse.

Luther will return to action Friday, Oct. 25 when it will host UW-La Crosse for a dual meet that will begin at 4:30 p.m.
