The Norse posted eight top-10 performances at today's 26th annual Alumni Meet. Over 90 alumni returned for a day of competition and catching up with old friends.
Joel Clark (36.94), Nick Clark (36.95) and Cole Hocker (38.79) posted times that rank second, fourth and ninth respectively in the 300 meter dash. Joel and Nick, who are not related, placed first and second finishing just ahead of alumnus Tyler Sherdon (T-Bone).
Jack Espeset (2:35.51) recorded the eighth fastest time in the 1000, while David Pedrick (6:09.16) improved his time in the 2000 steeplechase and remains 8th all-time. Erik Queoff (13-7 1/4) won the pole vault and ranks ninth, and Dan Etter (46-10 3/4) is now ranked fourth in the 35lb weight throw.
The alumni proved they could still compete winning eight events. Drew Burmahl won both the 1000 (2:35.51) and the mile (4:22.30). Adam Bohach won the 3000 (9:04.42), while assistant coach Tat Erredge claimed first in both the long jump (20-7 3/4) and the triple jump (40-11 3/4). Brian Hatlevig won the high jump (6-2). Sherden, who holds the school record in the 400 of :49.00 set in 2005, won this event clocked at :51.08. Sherden also ran the first leg of the winning 4 x 400 (3:37.94). Donterrious Porter, Robert Mattheisen and Chris Cinnamo completed the foursome.
The Norse return to action Saturday, Feb. 9 when they will participate in the Carleton College Meet of Hearts Invitational. Competition will begin at 11:00 a.m.
