Luther snapped a two-game losing streak with an impressive 88-63 victory over Buena Vista University in the Regents Center.
The Norse held the Beavers to 31.7 percent and dominated the boards 52-42. Luther led 46-26 at halftime and extended that advantage to 33 points midway through the second stanza.
The inside duo of Taylor Johnson and Nellie Nelson recorded double-doubles. Johnson scored a game high 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Nelson tallied 17 points and 12 boards. Meagan Koepnick recorded a career high 18 points with 12 of them coming in the second half. Lyndsi Woolems just missed double digits scoring a career high nine.
Brooke Wehle, Lexi Fisher and Becca Pennington all tallied double digits for the Beavers. Wehle scored 15, while Fisher and Pennington were credited with 11 and 10 respectively.
The victory gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 2-2, 10-5 overall. Buena Vista falls to 0-4 in league play, 7-8 overall.
The Norse return to action on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they will travel to Coe College for a game that will begin at 2:00 p.m. This game will be audio streamed beginning with the pre-game show at 1:55 p.m.
