Luther returned to competition this weekend at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational. Twenty-six complete teams raced on the Maple Grove Golf Course, West Salem, Wis. Luther placed fifth posting a team total of 132 points. The University of Minnesota won the team championships with 82. The Gophers were followed by Wartburg College with 99, Iowa Central with 101 and St. Olaf with 115.
Individually, four Norse finished in the top-25 from the field of 433 runners. Tricia Serres placed fifth clocked at 22:14.4. Maggie Pierson (22:45.1) was 19th, Christina Storlie (22:46.8) was 22nd and Jayne Cole (22:51) was 24th.
Rounding out the top seven and where they placed overall and what they scored included Lauren Mordini (67/62 - 23:39), Annie Klepper (80/71 - 23:53) and Lauren Stokke (95/81 - 24:00).
Luther returns to action on Friday, Oct. 19 when it will host UW-La Crosse for a dual that will begin at 4:30 p.m.
