Cornell College defeated Luther 67-47 this afternoon in the Multi-Sport Center in Mount Vernon. The Norse trailed the Rams 34-31 at halftime, but were outscored 33-16 after shooting 17 percent in the second frame.
Rachel Stenhaug was the lone Norse in double digits with 14, that included three three-point baskets. Taylor Johnson and Katie Etter both chipped in nine. Johnson led all rebounders with 10.
Cornell was led by the trio of Rikki Mulloy (19). Kathryn Schilling (16) and Camille Marie-Lidd (10).
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 1-5, 4-11 overall. Cornell improved to 4-2 in the IIAC, 6-7 overall.
The Norse return to action Monday night Jan. 16 when they will host the Spartans of University of Dubuque at 6:00 p.m. This game will be video streamed.
